Have you ever wanted twenty-six hours a day because twenty-four is not enough?

The deadlines of given tasks and projects seem very close which you cannot complete on time. Worse, unbalanced lifestyles increase the stress that makes you unhappy and misses the beauty of your life. However, you are not the only person with twenty-four hours a day, the most accurate time on this planet with the busiest people. They are good at time management because they know how good time management makes their life better.

Wouldn't it be great if you completed your project or task before the given time, so you can relax or have a cup of coffee?

When you manage your time wisely, you will have more free time for yourself. More than that, you will not be stressed again because you know what happens next (for the most part). The best part is, you will have better work and life balance which will give you enough time to spend with your loved ones or practice hobbies.

If I have convinced you, then let's see how to effectively manage your valuable time with these 4 proven techniques.

1. The first and most effective technique is to plan your day in advance.

  • Think about what you are going to do from today onwards and write it down. Of course there are many ways that you can plan your day. For example, journaling; Many successful people keep a magazine, magazines are already made for planning purposes, so it is easy to plan your day with the magazine. As a matter of fact, my life has changed a lot since I started the journal. For me, journaling is more than planning for 'tomorrow' because it helps me track the whole year. This means, journaling will give you the most accurate analysis of the year and you will be able to see your growth, also rectify your mistakes for the next year.

  • Another way to plan your day is a to-do list. It is simple and easy and is available in no time, just you write down what to do for the day. The to-do list can be in your magazine as you wish. To effectively create a to-do list, you must place your tasks in a time-block. Think of any task you need to do; Writing an essay, hitting the gym, or preparing for finals. Whatever your job is, put specific periods for specific tasks. For example, study for an hour, doing so forces you to finish your study in an hour, as a result, you avoid getting distracted.

  • But wait, how do you estimate the estimated time for a particular task or activity? If you are unsure about how much time you should schedule for a task, you will simply test it. Set up your stopwatch (in your phone if you are on the Internet) and turn it off when you are done, so now you know how long this task lasts. While doing so, you should avoid any disturbances like social media or phone calls, remember, you have got limited time to complete your work.

2. Second, since time management is about getting the best out of your time, it is important to prioritize.

  •  Mark Twain said, "If eating your frog is your job, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if your job is to eat two frogs, it's best." Do your most important tasks first, which is usually in the morning. After working with it, do less work. Doing this makes your workflow more organized and helps you be more adequate.

3. Third, take your time, take regular breaks.

  •  Without enough rest, you cannot be productive. You can organize your breaks with the Pomodoro technique which was developed by Francesco Cirillo. Basically, you work for a block of twenty-five minutes and take a break of five minutes. However, I have modified this technique for myself and you can do so as it is like a template that you can use.

  • You can use this amazing template in two ways, here is what I did, first of all, I have changed the time blocks, for me it is forty-five minutes of work and five minutes of rest. On the other hand, when I write, I make the outline first, then after working with the outline, it takes me the remaining ten minutes, then I start writing. As you can see, you can change the time blocks or you can customize it yourself as a task-based break. Because in particular tasks, for me it's writing, you're really focused and you're in the flow, so you don't want to stop. After completing four cycles like these, take a long break of twenty minutes. Again, use it as it suits you.

4. The last one, is a morning routine and wake up early. How do you start your day?

  • Do you check your smartphone and go through social media or make your bed? If you are on your phone, you are wasting your time. What happens here, I tracked how much time I spend in the morning on social media and it was about thirty minutes. Instead of spending thirty minutes on social media, I used that time for myself
